So funny story. I was typing my latest reply to this thread at my desk at work last week when my Stellatis parts and service rep walked in. He asked why I was shaking my head and smiling. I explained that he had perfect timing and told him about my park sensors not working after my service...
Thanks for the great contribution to this thread. I'm fully aware that I asked for them to calibrate my speedometer. I'd gladly pay for them to put it back. I work for the f'ing dealer in question. I'm the parts manager, and for the last year all I can get from the service department is "we have...
I had the dealer calibrate mine for 34.5 inch tires and the park sensors haven't worked since. They told me they contacted RAM and opened a star case. The answer came back that they were aware of the issue, and that it was caused by a software glitch, but that since this issue is only...
I suspected that. drained and refilled my fluid and there was no difference. I spent weeks looking for this dang noise. replacing the transfer case was the ONLY thing that made any difference.
Its coming from the chain inside the transfer case. If you put your truck in 4wd auto, it goes away. My opinion is Its the chain rattling when under load, but not engaged in 4wd. when you use 4ws auto, it engages the chain inside the transfer case, but not the front axle. noise goes away. At...
I was able to convince my dealer ( I work there) to replace my transfer case. It didn't make the noise go away completely, but it only makes it for a split second now and only at a very specific throttle position. Id say its 95% percent better than it was. I can live with it now. Before it was...
Talk to your dealer's service department. The ride height sensors can be calibrated in the system to change the height of the vehicle for level both side to side and front to back.
I ordered the gear motor and the sensor for tomorrow. We are going to see if that changes anything. The next step will be to pull the case and open it up. I'm tired of getting looks from people like "what kind of POS is that" when I drive by in my $60k truck.
I watched and listened to your go pro video. Its the exact same noise. No doubt about it. My tech is looking at it now. As far as parts that could be replaced go, there is only the transfer case position sensor, the damper, and the transfer case gear motor. Everything else is inside the...
I tried the 4wd auto on my way home from work today and sure enough, the noise goes away as soon the the 4wd auto engages. I’m Going to have my tech look at my truck again when I get to work tomorrow and see if he can isolate the noise to somewhere in the transfer case
