PPF is not something you do it yourself if you want a quality installation with quality materials. Look around for shops that do high end cars like Porsche, Ferrari, Lamborghini, etc. Those people know what they’re doing. These shops also will do window tint and ceramic coating.
The shop I use...
Check the settings on the camera. It may offer a setting that monitors the voltage and shuts off the camera if it detects the battery reaches a certain level.
I was worried about this same thing, so I bought and installed Hemi badges. The windshield detection monitor detected the badges and switched to Hemi mode. This should eliminate the issue.
Completely agree with the Diamondback. I looked at a lot of different options that were less expensive. The Diamondback will last as long as the truck, so it’s a one time cost. It looks great and there’s no way anyone is ever breaking into it.
Just be careful with powering from the OBD plug. I’ve heard of more issues powering that way vs. just connecting to the fuse box or the 12 volt power plug. If you do use OBD power, check how many pins the plug has. If it has more than 3, then it’s contacting other pins not needed for...
The check engine light is for emissions related issues, so has nothing to do with the need for an oil change. If the light is active, a reader should read the code when you plug it into the OBDII port. If your reader isn’t finding a code, perhaps something is wrong with it. Try going to AutoZone...
If I can’t fit my vehicles in my garage, I buy a lift, build a garage addition, or buy a new house. Thankfully, my wife agrees with me. For us, the garage is the most important room in the house.
I test drove a Laramie with air suspension and really liked it. It was one option I really wanted. The Laramie I ultimately bought didn’t have it. I’ve been pleasantly pleased with how comfortable it is on all drives.
The more I researched the air suspension, I’m somewhat glad I didn’t get it...
The MFT does limit your options for a tonneau cover. When I was researching, I found several threads.
I considered the Bakflip, but ultimately went with Diamondback SE. More expensive, but also more durable. I can carry stuff on top as well. Also, it didn’t require replacing the front triangle...
When AS/S bothers me, I just press the button to turn it off. Such a simple solution. Ram even put the button in a convenient position so it’s simple to press the starter button to start the truck and then press the AS/S off button.
This is great. Thanks for sharing.
The 360 camera system is the only option missing on my 2026 that I really wanted. Having a 360 camera system is definitely the best, but I was starting to look into just adding the front camera. I have that (and surround view) on another car and it’s immensely...
