Mobil 1, M1-212A, fits just fine, alittle bigger (not by much) cost effective, much cheaper than OEM. Been running them now for 3 yrs, not one problem. I can say, I have the best protected electronic steering column by far than any vehicle, oil coats it every time during a change, no matter...
Well I got one and yes, it runs smoother, as for performance? mpg is still the same, cleaner intake? yes, plugs look great, the only down side, you'll be emptying it out once a week.
one more thing about the PPE. You have the one O ring on the filter, it can collapse and become pinched upon lining it up and then you would push the pan up to engage, hard to tell if it went in correctly, I pull it out and chk for indentations on the O ring.
tried and true trick which I use on my aircraft, is drain the oil / put drain plug back in / start engine / run for about 10-15 secs / shut down / wait a few minutes / take filter off / my filter is practically empty, minimal mess, or get a relocation kit and good luck with hoses not leaking.
at first, I was wondering why in hell would Ram use such a small oil filter on a big V8, and of course the location was just plain dumbass. I went ahd and used the various oil relocation kits on the market and was able to mount a much bigger filter in a spot where it could be changed super easy...
what I mean is that the OEM screws are just like wood screw shanks. Designed to bite into the plastic as it expands or contracts. The only difference is that the kit comes with extra long screws to accommodate the new height of the spacer.
Well first off, the engr idiot who designed the layout of the pan drain bolt to be hidden by the exhaust cross over pipe is dyslexic. The utter most stooopid postioning of a non reusable tranny pan, period. I changed mine out for the PPE pan, drain bolt is very accessible and holds more...
beware! The intake is made out of ABS plastic, thus using wood type screws to seat the TB or spacer. Prone to stripping and or cracking if torqued too tight.
Phooey! Mopar coolant is Prestone with blue food coloring.. I always flush out the OEM swill for my 100% concentrated coolant, no mix, straight coolant. Never! zero, issues. I was looking for an extra set of hoses, (just in case) OMG! cant find any other than MOPAR, have to take out a 2nd...
I dropped out the bazillion lb. boat anchor of a muffler and put on the Carven, very mellow tone huge weight saving gain and more room under the truck for heat dissipation if any. My next trick is the Flowmaster American Thunder Axle-Back Dual Exhaust System with Black Tips; Rear Exit. Not too...
