I think some of what you're feeling is the trans downshifting till it gets to 1st gear. Until it gets there, there's some engine drag (to the point where i tend to be very very light on the brakes coming to a stop). Then when it drops to 1 it seems the resistance goes away. I think it's also...
Our traditional mother's day camping trip. This one was a bit more exciting. One camper tire exploded on the way there and the other blew up on the way back home. Took out part of the camper with it. Good times.
Went camping this weekend and was pulling 4k pound camper. I didn't notice the sound when I typically do. But I did notice it a few times at highway speeds going down hill when the trans would downshift. I don't know, growing up as a kid in the 80's/90's that always installed his own car...
I hear it on mine. It's a very high pitched noise I believe comes from the stereo speakers. My wife can't hear it, my kids can. I only notice it within the first 5-10 minutes of driving in the morning with windows rolled up, radio on but turned down to zero volume (or a source like USB when...
This is exactly how I feel with my 2021. I've mentioned it to my service tech, they basically told me I should go find an older truck with a carb and a 3 speed trans if i don't like it. I told him my kid who just started driving is a smoother ride in his 20 year old dakota than my new truck...
My issue is fixed when they replaced the gas tank..at least so far. The issue as it was explained to me was the rollover valve would get stuck in the closed position which wouldn't allow the tank to vent properly while filling up. I also got a new fuel pump out of the deal because the tech...
See I hear stories like this and think there's some issue with mine, which I've expressed to the dealership. Maybe they just don't want to deal with it. Glad it's working out for others.
Nobody is going to convince me that the added braking (when I don't want it to) is more fuel efficient than coasting to a stop like a normal vehicle. I come over the top of the hill on my street and let off the gas and at some point...going down hill...I have to reapply gas or the truck will...
Right but that's not what I'm talking about. When it's hot outside and you're sitting at a light or in a drive through lane and it auto starts because the cabin temp can't be maintained. Nothing to do with letting off the brake to purposefully move forward or plan to move forward. I typically...
Well that's what I thought too. Mine also surges forward when the autostart kicks in at a stop. I've gotten into the habit of when I come to a stop and it shuts off that I press about 50% harder on the brake pedal than it took to stop the truck. Otherwise if autostart comes on, the truck will...
This is the number 1 reason I'll be trading mine for a non etorque truck. I can't stand needing to modulate the brake pedal to come to a nice linear stop without giving my passengers whiplash between the harsh downshifts and the regenerative charging kicking in.
If it's under warranty, take it to the dealer? Mine did the same thing, called service, they looked at it and told me they've had this issue on a few of them. Replacing the gas tank under warranty is the fix. Mine only has the issue when it was below 40 degrees outside.
Same issue for me. Passenger side, 2021 1500 laramie. Built Aug 2020. Sometimes it comes out half way then goes back in. Sometimes it doesn't move at all. Today it worked fine getting in then when my kid got out it worked but instead of retracting when he shut the door it only went in half...
I just bought mine, 2021 1500 Laramie with Etorque and the 3.92 axle. It’s impossible to come to a stop smoothly. I have to constantly modulate the brake pedal as the engine/trans downshifts through the gears. It’s annoying as hell because if feels like you’re stabbing the brakes and letting...
