It took me 20 minutes because I'm above average.
...or because the steel vampire clips were so tight that they rolled themselves inside out during trim removal and had to be formed back into shape to reinstall, but I think it's the above average thing. 🤓
Well, now that I'm past the one year warranty, the lithium battery in my cam is no longer keeping time/date memory, so the time stamps on my files and in the videos are WAY off. Their web page says they would replace the camera for this issue during the warranty period, but it also says "you...
On mine, I found that it would happen if I didn't close my tailgate firmly. I haven't seen this behavior for at least a few months now, so I'm hoping that was it.
My card gets pretty warm. I'm sure things like whether it's in the shade or sun, if it's hot and sunny or not, etc. will contribute. After all, it's against the windshield in a dark, contained area.
That said, I pulled out the USB drive with all my music from below the radio the other day and...
Sadly, my own FIL thought this way quite literally, and he eventually took it WAY too far. I wouldn't do that to my SIL...or to my sweet daughter. They both have to push their way in to help us, and they do so frequently and lovingly. Can't ask for more than that. Besides, they make gorgeous...
Finally got mine installed today. It makes a much more noticeable difference than the Hellwig on my 3rd Gen did (and the 3rd gen didn't even have an OEM sway bar).
I'm curious how many people opted to use the OEM bolts instead of the new Allen head bolts and washers. I used the new ones, but...
SonIL came through today. Hellwig installed in the middle hole. So I gifted him an optic for his new rifle and even mounted it and bore-sighted it for him.
It's a very noticeable improvement. I'm not real happy with the new Hellwig bolts. They work ok, but the washers had to bend a little...
I hear ya. The cumulative damage from all the youthful carelessness is catching up. The sad thing is that I feel like I could do it with no trouble at all. But if I do the wrong thing and damage what they just fixed, I'll be starting all over. It's not worth all that. Besides, the SIL would...
This sucks. I've had my Hellwig for a week, but I can't install it because I'm still recovering from spine surgery, and I'm not allowed lift (or push or pull) more than 10 lbs. for another 3 MONTHS! I may have to recruit my SIL.
Easy solution. If you're in an accident where you screwed up and the BCM will tell on you, just get your windshield tinted. That'll show that squealin' BCM who's boss!!
(Of course, as a forensic analyst, I know this to be false)
Definitely important. If you have a feel for it, you can approximate, but definitely NOT as tight as you can, or you could find your self with a broken bolt or stripped out threads. You can probably borrow a torque wrench for free at AutoZone.
