well apparently there are different tailgates.. if you have a tailgate assist you must buy that tailgate as you cannot modify one that doesnt to fit and visa versa they are different widths and you cannot add the assist to the one that doesnt its not cut out and being its a different width... -

So my work truck is a 2019 Laramie 3500 4x4 with the factory tailgate assist. 99% of the time i am towing a trailer and one day someone thought it would be cute to unclip the trailer lock and long story short the trailer smashed my tailgate. I go and buy from Marketplace a used 2019 tailgate...
