I was talking to a buddy in the industry, and I think Stellantis is butting up against a wall when it comes to the Hemi line and meeting ever stringent emissions regs. It's essentially a 14-15 year design w the eagle heads. With resources being sucked into EVs and Stellantis not having the...
I had a supercew XLT. I noticed a bit of lag with my 3.5, but nothing major. Mpg is down w the Hemi, but only slightly so far. I do agree though, the driving experience all things considered is much better w the Hemi powertrain.
For what it's worth, I've got about 850km (500-550 miles) on my 5.7L non e-torque, and I can average 16.5mpg in the city...though driving to achieve top mpg. I've taken her for a few good highway runs punching/cycling the throttle 3-4k bursts after 300 miles or so to aid the break in process...
I was thinking today how much more enjoyable my 5.7L non-etorque is vs the second gen 3.5L EcoBoost 10 SPD I came from. For reference, Hemi's 400hp / 410 tq vs 3.5L EcoBoost 375 HP / 470 tq.
Anybody else here come from a Ford EcoBoost? I enjoyed that engine, it definitely pulled, but I find...
Congrats and welcome! I'm newer here too, came from a 2017 f150 XLT FX4 3.5 eco and while it pulled like hell, I wanted to own a proper n/a V8...particularly the hemi before they go away. IMO a much better engine, albeit much thirstier.
Great forum here, lots of info, my experience has been...
I just threw on a GT exhaust on my Laramie. Bolt on no modifications. I did from the bolted flange back, muffler and 2 resonators.
IMO it's best of both worlds, loud when you want it and otherwise quiet while cruising. There is some wonky MDS sounds at certain RPMs, but nothing the radio...
@lapoolboy I wanted to get the entire front end done, particularly the hood & fender...too much $ for me though. Maybe later. I know on my previous '17 F-150 with a lot of hwy miles (i.e. Niagara to Edmonton and back, with more than a couple trips to Ottawa), my front bumper was chewed up but...
I'm booked in locally as well. Quoted $500 CAD for 11mm ppf on just the front bumper. Already have a chip or two in the paint....so annoying but convinced me to go 11mm vs the 8mm. Just under $400 USD for my American neighours
In Canadian dollars, 13k off MSRP here, negotiated the "mandatory" financing processing fee off the vehicle, and got a sweet deal on the trade in.
From what I heard in the industry, Ram got ahead of the chip shortage during the COVID years and has too much supply vs ford/gm. That's why you'll...
I just bought a 22 Laramie and I'll definitely be getting PPF. Coming out of a 17 ford with a painted bumper, I learned the hard way of not doing the front bumper (did a lot of hwy driving). The rust bubbles from chips are brutal. I haven't got a quote yet but I almost don't care what it...
Only photo I have right now. Taking delivery in a few days! I wasn't glued to the sport hood when looking around, but the wife said it was a must have. Seeing the hood bulge from the front seat, I married the right one!
Hey folks - just wanted to introduce myself. Just signed the dotted line on a brand new '22 Laramie today and thought I'd jump right into the forum. 5.7L non E-Torque 4x4 3.21 rear end.
Coming from a '17 F-150 XLT 3.5L eco-boost. I'm so pumped to have a V8 - and a HEMI at that - I remember...
