Have RGs now for over a year and with snow/ice here in Reno and they have performed well in these conditions. Haven't had any complaints but I will caveat this by stating there is no substitute for winter tires. Just my 2 cents...

Had the Bridgestones in that size and went to a XL rated P275/60/20s in Nitto Ridge Grapplers (not what you are looking for) but the extra sidewall does help with bumps and the look. IMO, a real good highway tire as suggested by @Billet1500 in P275/60 will get you a softer ride
