Also be aware of the ’feature delay” when you reconnect the battery. I wasn’t aware of this and was worried I messed something up yesterday! Let the truck sit for 3 hours and all of the features came back.
This is a really good idea actually. I will do some research and make sure the radio doesn’t use the mount for grounding, but otherwise I really like the idea of using Velcro.
Drilled a hole in the roof to install a UHF/VHF antenna. Ran the cable down the C pillar to under the rear seat. Scared to drill the mounting holes for the radio because I don’t know what’s under the carpeting under the rear driver’s side seat. Doing a little more research before I continue...
Is there any cabling or anything I should worry about not drilling into in the area immediately under the rear driver’s side seat? I want to mount a VHF/UHF radio under there but I am concerned about drilling through the carpet and hitting something important.
Is it possible to drop the back of the headliner a few inches without breaking any adhesive? I am trying to install an antenna on the back of the roof but I don't want to pull down the headliner if I am going to have to break and reapply adhesive.
