Regarding the step, I bought one for about $90.00 off Amazon and works fine. Probably used it 20 times in 6 months. Was a bit of juggling rotating the thing to the correct angle to get around muffler and into frame though.

Fatehrof3, negative, no noise. Did make a slight noise/thunk when I locked the rear axle when in 4lo but front wheels still not spinning. thanks

Richard, thanks. Drove fine for about 20 mins and sat for 2 hours and won't start so its off to town to try to test battery and replace tomorrow. Don't trust driving that far with so many computers drawing on and slightly charged battery.
