Thats not a bad price. I had a factory drop in on my 4th gen. The drop-in will offer more protection for the bed, but spray in will actually last longer if its done professionally.
I went through the same thing. I grabbed some black silicone and sealed EVERYTHING in the back: the window, the shark fin, the new third brake light (all the way around). So far so good after a bath.
Its true that they also added for port for efficiency but Ford engineers themselves stated that it is also to combat carbon build-up on the intake valves. I can try to find the article from a few years ago, but it doesnt get any clearer than that.
You're kidding, right? Every engineer and mechanic on this planet has verified that the high heat from turbos cause an engine to be more susceptible to carbon build up.
Its mainly an issue with turbo engines specifically because of the heat generation. Thats why Ford started using port injection, thats the only way to combat the problem that I've seen (aside from the blasting). Would love to see a tear down of a Hurricane with say...100k miles one of these...
Thats exactly what I'm saying...after owning a 2.7 ecoboost, I could only imagine how great and monsterous the Hurricane is. The only advantage the Ford has is being lighter weight from the aluminum body.
With 100k mile warranty on new Rams now...I'd get the Hurricane. I love the Hemi sound and slightly quicker response. But when turbos spool up....its not like anything you've felt in a NA engine. I say that after owning a F150 2.7 Ecoboost, and that wasn't even a I6.
Coolzzy is correct...the sensor is basically the opposite of how the auto headlight sensor works. There needs to be a certain amount of light hitting the sensor for the auto dimming to activate. Its a common thing for it to not activate if the rear glass tint is too dark or if the headlights...
Being a 2023 with only 28k miles...nah, I wouldn't worry. Just keep up with the OCI going forward. It would be a different story if it had around 70k miles and all of the OCIs were like that though.
