Add USB ports to backseat BigHorn

I don’t recall exactly but I used a forstner bit, either 1.125” or 1.25”. I’m sure a spade bit would do fine but forstner is such a clean cut that’s what I’d shoot for

Add USB ports to backseat BigHorn

Some observations... The newly installed rear USB ports will charge my iPad, whereas the factory front USB ports do not, and may not push enough power. So a definite advantage to having these new ones. Second though, maybe nitpicking and really just exclusive to the USMEI Dual QC3.0 USB Charger...

Add USB ports to backseat BigHorn

Success! I attached a Micro2 Fuse Tap in the F66 spot as pictured, and ran the 14awg wire along the underside of my center console, where I then spliced it and attached to my USB ports. I also spliced the negative wire. You’ll need to attach it to the chassis, and I found it easiest to use the...

Add USB ports to backseat BigHorn

Sorry for the delay. Here's what I purchased USMEI Dual QC3.0 USB Charger Socket I've been out of town and am about to actually hook up the wiring and go live. I'll tell you right out of the box the included cable is VERY thin and is also not long enough to reach the interior fuse box, so I...

Add USB ports to backseat BigHorn

Those look right to me but I abandoned this project once I started doing the math. The end cap alone at around $300 was too crazy. I ended up buying 2 quick charge automotive USB ports and installed into my existing end cap using a forstner drill bit. Picture attached. Ironically, I’m wiring...

Add USB ports to backseat BigHorn

I'm glad to see that others are also trying this. I was hoping to also add USB ports and the 115v module to my Rebel Crew Cab, so for me I would need to replace the entire end cap instead of just the little cubby (the 115v module hangs down a little lower than my current end cap can fit). Once I...

Adding back seat usb and or 110

Hi all, does this project still have legs? I’d like to add factory USB ports to the rear of my 2019 Rebel center console. If anyone has the part number I’m happy to take a crack and document how much of a headache it is :)

    Horrific Gas Mileage Hemi eTorque

I really wish I’d seen this thread prior to Saturday, as I bought my 1500 Rebel w/ eTorque that day. It’s been 2 days and I’m already having regrets... I traded in an amazing 2016 Scat Pack Charger because I wanted some utility, and opted for the eTorque package to save a few dollars at the...
