I see what you mean. Another reason I should have gone with Vice. I would rather hit a rock with the skid than have the fixed and motorized air dams get ripped off!
Non-Rebel doesn't make a difference with the portion under the engine. I have the same factory skid plate as used on the Rebel. The holes lined up if I put it on upside down, but the bends were wrong then. The front holes that mount the skid are on the left on the frame and on the right on...
RCI skid plate. Engine section was made wrong, so I put the factory skid back on. See what they say. If they want me to pay shipping to fix their mistake I will either re-drill it myself or keep the factory one on.
Recently put on the same tires. It feels like a new truck! I had the Yokohama Geolander MTs before which are a great offroad tire, but terrible on wet pavement or snow and had gotten loud as hell. What size did you get? I dropped down to 18" wheels and got 285/70s which are 34" tall.
That's what I ended up with as well. No caliper clearance issues. I bought the wheels and tires from Tire Rack and they have a note for this application to position the weights carefully
