This is the answer. Ones you plug into the trailer receptacle the towing module notifies the truck there is a trailer attached and that’s what they do is deactivate that feature. There are other post here related to that.
Interesting I too have problems with TTMS and trailer lights on my 25 Ram. They installed a new towing module and light plug in the bumper this week. Going to the lake in the morning I will have to check that also. But I am really just wanting the trailer lights to work mainly.
Update on new part number.
Had my truck in today, they replaced the 7 way plug and the tow module behind the seat. That module has been updated by Ram for the the trucks built with the integrated brake controller, trailer lights and ttpms from part number 68602159AE to new part number 68602159AF...

Hum, I wonder Because I’m having almost the same issue with mine. I’m getting light out warning check trailer connection and all my running lights on the trailer will go out. But all the other lights will still work . They are getting a new receptacle but zi wonder if they need a module also.
