This is actually pretty common. My father in law worked for a tech company and he was laid off and re-hired a few times when the decision makers tried to outsource their code writers to 3rd world countries and then realized it was a bad idea because the product was suffering and needed to...
Is it too much to ask for them to just do it right the first time? Can’t there be a middle ground instead of wither very few people get it or the entire world gets it and then everything goes to garbage?
Is there a way to verify if our vehicle was in this batch? I had previously provided my build info but haven’t seen any updates come across my truck. It hooks up to my home WiFi each day and I drive around with it tethered to my phone for internet.
Design choice or safety feature, same difference. Some manufacturers think something is unsafe that others don’t. I don’t know if it is still this way but Toyota makes it so that when you remote start their engine it turns off as soon as you open the door. I have relatives with several different...
That is a safety feature. It will not unlock until you put your hand behind the handle. It behaves the exact same if you have your key fob in your pocket.
That happens at least once a day on my phone but also happens to a buddy of mine who has a Ford. I think ONE of the contributing factors is interference from other signals. There’s a part of Vegas where I can drive and it boots my phone EVERY SINGLE TIME. His Ford does the same in the same spot.
Honestly, that doesn't surprise me. It seems it's either feast or famine with issues on these trucks. Some people have no issues and others seem to have all of the issues. Sadly, I'm in the latter. They are all situated now so I'm good but it wasn't fun going through it at the time.
My truck fits those requirements, but I know that I have never provided my Van for submission. Can I provide it now to hopefully be included in the next wave of trucks?
I can’t tell any difference. It did complete the update. I still don’t have a tile to pair the phone to use it as a key. I’m out in Las Vegas. Nowhere near Detroit.
As an FYI, I had already received that RCT 5.0 update months ago.
To paraphrase: we took one teeny tiny baby step forward but there is still no end in sight. Don’t hold your breath unless you live in the Detroit area.
