It would be going on a tuned truck. 208° just seems too high to me. Lower temperature usually means more power and more room before the engine gets really hot.
Does anyone know of a source for a lower temperature late model EcoDiesel thermostat? I know Green Diesel has one but will not sell it to me. Looking for another source
GDE should just sell out of Canada. HD Diesel Supply says they will not have a tune for the Gen 3 engine because it requires sending in the ECU....... :(
Yeah, I looked on their Facebook page and saw one tuned truck taking off. Good bit of smoke there. I want a delete, but want very little smoke most of all. Smoke is unburnt fuel.... I will probably go with the GDE.
DieselRebel, did they send something to plug the return cool egr pipe? I guess you just tape up the wires that were connected to the old pipe? Dang... I wish there would be some type of dyno or comparison to this tune to the soon to be released GDE. Is there a dyno chart of the MR Tuning...
Checked with my dealer and cost of the ECU is a little over $200 but they charge $1495 to program it. I will not be going that way. From what I hear, the GDE tune is usually not detectable with dealer equipment. The ECU would have to be sent in to FCA and diagnosed to really find any...
I plan to tell my dealer I want to purchase a spare ECU and them program it with any updates and go ahead and install it in the truck, then give me the original one in there. I will send that one off. Should not be against the law to purchase a spare ECU...! Dang, it is a part they sell from...
If your worried about gas prices, get the diesel. My diesel has the 3.92, so I guess I get the best mileage (diesel) and fastest acceleration (3.92)... :p
Maybe that's why Ram offers different ratios. You can order what you want. Pleases two different groups of people. No need in trying to prove to the other group why you like your ratio or why you think it's better. Just be happy with what you chose. No one wants to second guess their choice...
