Assuming it's repaired well.... it should look good, not very noticeable at all. Certainly it should disappear enough to avoid being noticed at trade in. Normally they don't notice or care much about typical rock chips. But if it's right in the driver sight or particularly ugly.... then it's...
I have 30 years in the windshield repair biz, so thought I would comment on this one. There is no issue with rock whip repairs on Ram trucks. They can be done the same as any other vehicle. What really matters... how bad is the damage, and how competent is the repair shop? Every rock chip is...
Offset of the wheel has more impact on how big a tire you can fit.... whether the tire will clear the fender when turning or rub the inside of the tire on the suspension, etc. But it's not going to matter for fitting over the brake calipers.
I have Method NV 18's .......they fit, but it's tight...
35x11.5 or 285/65r20 which is about the same size.... but depending on the specific tire, the "285" size is probably slightly narrower at 11.2" and might even be a touch taller than some "35"s
295 would be a good option if you want a little fatter... closer to the width of a 35x12.5
I have set of 5100 fronts still in the box. If availability remains an issue, I could sell mine. I just figured shipping will be expensive so haven't tried to sell them. Figured I would put them up for local sale sometime. Got them a few months ago, and then decided to go with 6112/5160s...
Unless I'm missing something, you are right. Doesn't matter what truck you put them on... it's the same because they come with new springs. The end result ride height is the same whether or not you have the ORP.
But he chart shows how much increase in height you get... it's the before/after...
Bare metal will have surface rust in just hours unless you live in a desert. But like mentioned already, it's easy to spot treat now while it's fresh and it will hold up a long time. Lots of good rust converter/primer/sealers....
Also, sometimes a mechanic etc... will just say something to agree...
Some have had the dash light up when messing with the AlfaOBD programming. I'm just happy that I got to adjust the settings and it worked without issues. I haven't done anything else with the program, but there are quite a few things it can do.
Before resetting the tire size, the speedo was...
Got AlfaOBD and reset the tire size for my 35s. The app is a little scary to fire up for the first time....but I didn't have any issues, no error codes, etc :) My speedometer was off about 10% with the new 35s. There was a preset option in AlfaOBD for Toyo 35's and that was pretty close...
I just got a set of 6112/5160... not installed yet. I'm looking at doing clip setting #4 or #5. I know most are probably doing #6-8 but I don't have ORP and I think 1-1.5 inch lift is enough for me.
Any thoughts, or similar setups that have been done, let me know! I will post pics when I...
Mine did that. When I put them on the truck, two synced right away....on a test drive around the block.... then a 3rd one. Then a few minutes later I drove it again and all four were "synced" but the driver side are showing up backwards. Front tire is reading at the back location, vice versa.
I...
First thing that comes to mind after recently shopping for my wheels.... are Pro Comp. The have some classic styles like popular Method, Fuel etc but a little cheaper. These are under $175/ea...
BTW, I got my OBD wiring harness this week. Still need to download the AlphaOBD app and learn what I'm supposed to do with it now.
I finally put new shoes (35s) on my stock non-ORP Bighorn, and have 5100 struts to level the front but they are still in the box. Right now, front clearance is...
Sorry to hear. A decent repair will always look much better after it's done. Not "invisible".... but always better, and usually a "dramatic" difference.
This is what I was talking about in the previous post. Didn't want to name names.... because every shop and every tech is different. I have...
