Just a quick update: I took @BowDown advice and decided not to go with an aftermarket upholstery shop. It seemed too risky to have the dash taken apart and potentially end up with rattles later on—or worse.
I took the truck to another local dealer, Kunes in Woodstock, IL, and they quickly...
I don’t, but when I bought the truck, it was definitely coated with that horrible glossy dressing dealers use to make pre-owned vehicles look “new.” Since then, I’ve only wiped it down occasionally with a dry cloth.
A couple of updates: I filed a complaint with both the Better Business Bureau and Stellantis—not expecting much—and, unsurprisingly, received only a generic, copy-and-paste response from their representative, Jen.
I also visited a local auto-upholstery shop and got a $300 quote to wrap the dash...
I realize this may come down to personal experience, but I’ve never encountered anything like this before. To be fair, only about half of the vehicles I’ve owned even had leather dashboards. Still, it’s frustrating after a lifetime of seeing ads boasting “Nothing Stops Ram,” “Built Ford Tough,”...
I agree, not a great selling point to whoever sits in this seemingly premium truck and asks "what the hell is happening to the dash?". Thank you for the input.
Thank you for the input, I did take the truck to two separate dealers. One offered about 30% coverage as a “goodwill” gesture because of the mileage.
As for the idea that every manufacturer has the same issues with leather dashboards, I have to disagree. I’ve owned multiple high-mileage...
I’m hoping to get some additional insight—or at least add visibility—to the dashboard issue on the 2021 RAM Limited.
Before anyone jumps into a debate about Stellantis quality, here’s my background for context. I’ve owned 16 vehicles from different brands, and take meticulous care of every one...
Sure enough, it's on the window sticker, 3:21.
I'm most likely just jumping the gun, owning it for only a week. I'll mix in some random driving and see what the average is over the next month. Also expecting some mid-40's weather coming up.
I still haven't gone through all my settings...
Thank you, I'll keep all that in mind. This thing isn't fitting in my garage at the moment, I have to do some spring-cleaning for a second vehicle. But I'm sure running it in the mornings doesn't help.
I'll be monitoring it, thank you. As far as the gear ratio, I'm actually not sure. The window sticker lists it as "8-Speed Automatic 8HP75 Transmission".
