The gauge on my 25 Laramie with 26 gallon tank gives extremely early warnings as well. My last truck was a 22 big horn with the 33 gallon tank, and it did not behave this way. My 22 would not go to low fuel warning until range was 50 miles and when I filled it up, the calculation was accurate.
