I have this problem with lever action rifles.
But that is one cool looking band saw. A guy needs some mountain land with timber and a hankering to build his own cabin to make use of such a glorious machine, IMO.
Looks like you put your truck in the dryer, too!
Seriously, those tear-drop campers are great little units. But by the time I was done trying to incorporate Mrs. LHR's must have and wish list items, there's no way we would have been able to get by with that kind of a unit. It's a...
Just bought one yesterday as it's just the Mrs. and I these days and it looks like a really great "couples coach". Sadly, I won't be able to pick it up until mid-May as the RV dealers are overwhelmed with demand and that was the first available window for dealer prep, adding an exterior...
Inspired by everyone ITT, I ordered the Fram "Fresh Breeze Cabin Air Filter with Arm & Hammer Baking Soda, CF11671" from Amazon, which arrived today. I think I had the glove box door, cabin filter cover removed, and the new filter installed before the Amazon delivery driver left the cul-de-sac...
Yes, I'm quoting myself. Final update on this project. The 72-6515 adapters arrived this morning, and installing them definitely solved the horrible "drone" noise that was taking place w/o the ANC bypass installed. As a test I reconnected the ANC unit and the ANC bypass loom, and went for a...
I'm too lazy to switch the pins on the 72-6514 adapters, and since I have to pull all four door panels to do the job, I just ordered new 72-6515 adapters from Crutchfield. The sound running through the ANC bypass is "pedestrian" at best, but it beats the heck out of that teeth rattling drone if...
Yes - I'm quoting myself.
Final update, Captain's Log 04/01/2021: I'm back from the dealership and the software "flash" has been successfully resolved. The Service Manager brought me the joyous news himself, and apologized for the code entry error on their behalf that required a second trip...
Minor update: still no sign of a successful electronic trailer brake flash on my vehicle. I've detached all three of the new connections, double-checked that there are no bent pins, reconnected (with that satisfying "click" sound when they're fully seated) and nothing. I have an appointment at...
Me, trying to figure out whether to leave my 6514's in place or re-pin to match the 6515 specs:
In all fairness, I should probably re-pin. I have a turrible drone noise with the ANC engaged, but it rocks. With the ANC bypass hooked up, there's no drone noise but it's washed out sound.
Did your dealer or your vehicle ever resolve to show the trailer? I did the installation myself, but had the software flash done at a local area dealer yesterday ($69) over the lunch hour and so far I have absolutely no sign of the update at all, either on the main uConnect or in the cluster...
We snapped our harnesses and connected them to the speakers correctly. I think what others are pointing out is that the wiring harnesses we used were wired bass-ackwards for our vehicles. Dagnabbit!
I'll give that a try in the next few days to see if I've been hoodwinked with the 72-6514's and their (alleged) reverse polarity. If so, I'm torn between splicing wires and ordering a new set of 72-6515 adapters. What to do, what to do, what to do, do, do ...
The polarity would be "backwards" at the snap-in factory harness coupling if that were true. I looked online at Crutchfield, and both the 6514 and 6515 have the larger connector on the white wire (+) and the smaller connector on the black wire (-). I'm not sure why they'd change polarity...
I did my install today as well, and had previously done the ANC bypass. I went for a drive "around the block", plugged in my iPhone via CarPlay, found a good rock song(Metallica's "Wherever I May Roam") and twisted the dial.
It just seemed super "washed out" and tinny sounding. Not al all...
Yes. The adapters snapped into the factory wiring harness and the "positive" and "negative" ends of the Metra 2-wire loom have a large & a small clip end, which correspond to the proper polarity on the speakers. You literally cannot mess them up. FWIW, I purchased the 72-6514 and they were a...
