Mine functions, but that’s all it does. It rarely understands what I say. It’s the worst voice recognition I’ve ever used. It was better on my 14 Laramie and my 15 Grand Cherokee. As far as texting goes, I just hold down the voice button and use Siri. She knows what she’s doing.
I don’t know exactly how the truck receives the signal, but I suppose there could be some kind of interference. Like if I have my fob and my phone in the same pocket the passive entry doesn’t always work. Maybe not, but you never know.
I don’t know if you have the Mopar bedstep or not, but it really works well. I probably wouldn’t have ordered it, but it came with my truck and I’m really glad it’s there. I recommend it for sure.
This is at only 1300 miles. Just going to get worse unfortunately. It’s the one and only disappointing part of my truck. I don’t know how to tag RamCares in this. Maybe they could help?
I used mine for the first time yesterday. Really worked well. I like it better than the steps in the ford tailgates. Just don’t trip on the tailgate support on the way back down.
Zero problems but only 1300 miles. I will say that if your truck does not come with fixed running boards, do yourself a favor and have some paint protection film added to the fronts of the rear fender flares. They take an unfortunate beating and will chip immediately.
