If they don't resolve it before the warranty runs out, I'd just go to a nice looking pair of non-OEM running boards. There are a lot of great options out there for under $300 USD. Those things are bound to break eventually anyway. Shame the dealer hasn't been more helpful.

You can do anything with enough money, but you're going to change a lot of the dynamics of the truck such as towing capacity and payload.
