I understand there are situations, especially offroad, where engine braking is desirable--maybe even necessary. However, brakes have replacement parts that are relatively cheap. Transmissions and transfer cases do not.
Unless I've misunderstood, you are way over the payload limit, by 600 lbs. to be exact, plus passengers, luggage, etc. Power Wagons are soft for better offroad capability at the expense of payload and towing capability.

It is a little short such that I can't get screws in the bottom. I'm going to just try being careful plugging stuff in and out (won't be that often). If necessary, I'll have to put a little backing plate behind the bottom holes.
