Appreciate the tip about the straps! And the info about the pan and the link. I will be reading up and learn from your mistake! Sounds like an easy one to make. Still not sure which way Im going with the pan, but an aftermarket one with replaceable filter sounds nice. And seems like aluminum...
Appreciate the help! Ive watched a video or 2, but need to watch again. I was thinking Jack stands could work. Putting the front tires on ramps is a good idea, something I hadn't thought of
Mines a off-road model with slightly higher ground clearance, still not the greatest place to work under...
Really appreciate all the help, thanks alot!
My next plan is to change the transmission fluid & filter. Looks like a bit of work from what Ive seen. One question that would help me decide if I want to try it myself. Can it be done without lifting the truck? Ive watched videos where the truck...
That's good to know! Mines only got 55k, but got about 10k towing a camper.
I changed my other truck df today, a 93 toyota pickup with 120k, and it didn't look bad really. Good chance its the original fluid, but can't be sure. Bought it with 88k
Appreciate the reply. I still wish I was 100% sure. I guess at this point I'm around 98-99% lol
So if I turned off traction control and got on a dirt road and stomped it, there would be two spin marks if it had limited slip? Or would somehow not spin
And only one spin mark if it wasnt... ...
Its got an "axle lock" button, that locks both rear wheels aka positive traction.. I think is the word.
But also has traction control, and another button to disable that
Seems I read a year or so ago that having the axle lock button means its not limited slip. ?
Trying to figure out what diff fluid I need to service with. It has 3.92 ratio and the axle lock feature. Unsure about limited slip tho...
Tried several times this morning to pull up a build sheet using my vin, and I'm sure Im typing it in correctly, but nothing ever pulls up...
Are locking...
I had an earlier warranty issue without appointment and it took 2 or 3 days. I even asked them about that, why last time took 2 or 3 days with no appointment
Had stopped by earlier for this issue, back in November, and the guy was very nice and said I had until July, but would have to leave it...
If/when they send me a survey, I'm sure gonna let them know what I think about all of this! And ask why they couldn't let me drive it until they had time. And a few other things.
First thing the lady at FCA said was, "why don't they let you drive it until they have an opening?"
She was very...
Several days ago, I finally called FCA, and started a claim about the excessively long time it was taking to get my truck back. The people there were very friendly and understanding of my situation. They contacted the dealership for me to ask wtf?
Maybe just a coincidence, or maybe not, but...
Well, Friday will be 4 weeks since I dropped it off. For a well known problem they repair all the time. Don't think I'll ever buy a truck with a warranty ever again. I'd rather just save the money and pay a shop that can do work in a reasonable amount of time and not f me around.
I'm gonna have to go up there tomorrow and kindly ask them wtf is going on. If they "haven't got to it yet" I'll ask them to spare me 2 minutes to go out and put their ear beside the wheel when I crank it so they can hear the leak. So I can get my truck. Seems really shady to me how they're...
Yep, I'm a mechanic by trade and got a ton of tools. I did a little YouTube University on how to do it and then they said they'd take care of it, so why not let them do it
There was a serious heat wave right after I left it and I left a note saying please put sun shade in windshield when parked...
Mine is only noticeable at startup, for about 20 or 30 seconds and goes away as the metal heats and seals the gap. I've told them that and the 1st guy was like, yeah, you'll have to leave it overnight so we can test it cold. Not a problem. And told me I had another 6 months and could bring it...
Hey everybody,
I've got a 2020 Ram Limited 1500 that I purchased about 3.5 years ago from the local dealership. I've had 2 issues with it so far. 1st the dash bubbled up and I took it back and 2 or 3 days later they had it ready. Fully covered under warranty. Then, a couple years later, the...
