eTorque Bearing Replacement, Fixed Grinding Noise

Just want to say thanks to Ram / Mopar. This issue just escalated to the biggest fight between my wife and myself. It looks like I'm doing nothing while paying on a truck sitting in our drive way and having to rent and borrow cars from family so we can both go to work. Been on a list from one of...

Are you happy with your Ram??

2021 Laramie. No, I wish I had read up more about the etorque and I would have avoided it like the plague. Truck has been sitting in my driveway for 3 months now with no ETA on a replacement. We've had to share one car in a two career household, rental cars, hotel rooms, tolls, etc. The answer...

eTorque Bearing Replacement, Fixed Grinding Noise

I'm finding it funny and suspicious how online mopar sites are showing the MGU's in stock at the same time new ebay listings go up for $3K. Then when you order the MGU from the site, they are out of stock. They way these online inventories work is they scan the shipments they receive in and they...

Replace the rear bearing yourself, easy to do with another person. You won't get access to the front bearing without some major work as referenced by a few here. The bearing replacement solves the issue for some, but others (myself included) have units that won't charge. You won't know until you...

eTorque Bearing Replacement, Fixed Grinding Noise

In quite a dilemma. We swapped the front rear bearing and reinstalled the unit as we were unable to get to the front bearing. The grinding sound was gone, replaced by more of a whine. We believe the front bearing is the culprit. I ordered a new MGU from mopar, but just received an email that...

eTorque Bearing Replacement, Fixed Grinding Noise

Replaced the rear bearing, unable to get the front out. We reinstalled the alternator today, fired it up, and no more banging bearing noise..... but there is a whining sound coming from the front, possibly the front bearing. Going to order a new unit entirely.

Can anyone verify this is the correct positioning for the new bearing? The original was in pieces, seen off to the side, and I am definitely not an expert of any kind here. Thank you,

eTorque Bearing Replacement, Fixed Grinding Noise

I just joined the screaming MGU club at 106k miles, so no warranty. 2021, I've read all the replies and can turn a wrench, I just need to know what bearings to order, as there are quite a few recommendations and some are talking about other model years. Thank you all for pioneering this fix.
