Definitely put something between the bracket and the frame. And you're gonna love this thing, makes life so much easier and cleaner, LOL I also have the ValvoMax oil drain valve so I don't even raise the Rebel to do an oil change. No tools needed either. Near perfect!
This is for the 5.7L V8's and mine has the Pacbrake oil filter relocation kit. I can't say how much I love that thing. It makes oil changes so easy and quick. BUT what I did notice was this very weird humming/buzzing sound from somewhere under the hood, generally after hard acceleration...
I heard an RHO the other day. He was merging into my lane on the highway and he gave it a bit of gas to get up to speed. The sound that thing made was embarrassing.
V8 all day for me.
Id say manifold leak or passenger side exhaust flange that connect to the manifold.
One easy way to check if you live in a colder climate is starting the truck and looking for exhaust moisture evaporating. Mine was clear as day coming from the manifold.

Thanks everyone. I went to Rockauto and found what I believe are replacements from Walker (so I don't think stainless) for $12 CAD? Their diagram suggests this is the correct part number...
I want to (need to) adjust the tips on the exhaust but it's all quite rusty under there and I worry the bolts will break.
Anyone know where I can locate replacement clamps, should this happen? Im in Canada BTW. Cheers
Im pretty sure one of them is dead, sounds like a Fiat when I honk now. Im actually surprised it happened, seems early for a horn to die and doing research, it seems this happens relatively frequently? Ive replaced a horn in the past, just wanted to ask for any tips, etc before I get in there...
Is this normal? When the truck was new, it was tight to drop and raise but manageable. Now Im basically standing by the rear tire, kicking it backwards to get it to move and doing the same to raise it. Ive seen videos online where people are doing reviews of the 1500's and they are effortlessly...
