I need help understanding the Power Wagon. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a fan of Ram. I have owned several and currently own a new 1500 and an older 2nd gen Cummins. Numbers below are from Rams website.
Ram 1500 4X4 Crew Cab Bighorn 3.21 gears
Curb weight: 5259
Payload: 1840
Tow: 8240
MPG: 18.5...
I did that and still had a mess although some of the mess is due to inexperience (this was the first oil change for the truck). The filter was as usual from the factory put on by a gorilla. Even with using a appropriately sized oil filter wrench and then having to switch to large pliers, it made...
I know there’s been other oil change posts before and this isn’t a shopping list or anything list that. Instead, I’m just expressing my feelings towards the engineers and why I hope they die.
I really don’t know why engineers don’t make performing maintenance a little easier. I would venture to...
Mine is pretty tight as well. The auto braking always kicks in when I’m backing into the garage and makes me think I’ve hit the house even though I’m watching it in the camera. I’ve backed in a lot by now and never hit the house since the zoom on the camera is so good. I usually get it so close...
I disagree with most of the people here. I have 3.21 and average 17-17.7 MPG per tank. I drive normal, not slow but not like I’m 17 y/o either. I also live in Atlanta where traffic is hell and small portions of my commute is bumper to bumper but mostly it’s wide open interstate. I’ll settle for...
Fix/adjust the automatic brake feature:
If my foot is covering the brake pedal and the brake lights are engaged, the automatic braking doesn’t need to slam on my brakes while I’m parking in my garage. I know I’m close to the wall, that’s why my foot is on the brake.
Agreed. I do hate the tow mirrors. It’s not because it cancels the folding or anything. I hate the mirrors because the blind spot mirror is on the side and it throws off my eyes. I’d much rather have the small blind spot mirror in the corner but for the money I’ll accept it.
I paid $489 in “documentation fees”. I honestly think dealers fees are another way for dealers to screw you and make more money for doing a job they’ve always done. Not so many years ago there was no such fee and you can still find a few dealers without fees throughout the country but they are...
I’d agree with you. If you had 200 lbs in a toolbox (plus weight of the toolbox), a rooftop tent mounted on the rails (150 lbs +/-), and 350 lbs of me and girlfriend, that’s 700 lbs static. With a wind pulling a little one way or another I could see a nutsert or two being stressed. I think the...
Perfect! If I had an owners manual I definitely would’ve looked it up but thank you.
I wonder why Ram sells the roof rack with bars that attach to the bed rails since that would most certainly be beyond 45 degrees for the load. Either way, my question is answered. I’ll probably make something...
Does anyone have any info on the utility rails for the bed (weight capacity, tie down capacity, etc.)?
I have a roof top tent and would like to know if the rails will support the weight if I use the Yakima rail kit on Mopar’s website.
I honestly don’t know. They didn’t ask questions and I damn sure didn’t. I just said I’d be happy to take the deal. I did call them before I made the drive and verified the discount on their website and asked if the truck I was looking at was seriously that much money off and they said yes. I...
I just bought mine this past Saturday for $15K under sticker. No BS. I saved a ton of money at Jimmy Britt Ram in Dublin, GA (about 100 miles south of Atlanta/50 miles south of Macon). I highly recommend!!
The pic is the truck I bought and yes, I got all of the $15K off and I don’t own a...
