I'm now on my 3rd battery in 4 years. All AGM, and I have an E-torque. 2/3 have been covered by warranty, thankfully. I'm going to get rid of the POS FCA battery and go to a Deka (Napa) battery as soon as this one dies.
Haven't bothered to try calling ATT yet to see if they'll fix it. I'm leaning towards skipping, as the hotspot was not particularly fast when it worked.
Thank you to everyone who has contributed here!
I have a question about the cooled seats. Has anyone come across a way to make them come on hi when the truck is started (vs low). It's hot here 10 months out of the year, and it would make for one less thing to do after starting my truck. I know...
The only way I was able to work around this issue was to make sure to shut the hotspot off before powering down the truck. When I left the hotspot running, and powered down, it would have the "connected without internet" issues on my devices. I had to switch off the hotspot, shut the truck off...
I updated from 39.7 to 40.1 without issues.
As for the ATT hotspot, I got an email saying mine was cancelled yesterday. Trying to log into the ATT myvehicle portal, it now shows hotspot is no longer available. Yay. I also noticed in the past, the hotspot would connect without internet if you...
I came back to report what the actual issue is. On the dual rapid charger, the draw is 450W (the inverter inside can only do 400). The single battery rapid charger works fine. Would love to get some sort of inverter/2nd battery setup so I can have power in the bed.
I've found that you have to turn off the hotspot before shutting the truck down, otherwise you get the Wifi but no internet issue. I've been able to repeat this, ie it's working fine as long as you make sure to turn off the hotspot before shutting the truck off. It's annoying, but a work-around...
I was looking into something like this, but mainly so I can power an inverter while the truck isn't running. Also was considering a bed outlet to charge tools, etc..
