I don't know exactly, I could measure it for you, but I will say one of the main reasons I got the Cap was to regain some of that depth I lost with the drawer system. Its the perfect combo and setup, I love it.

You can technically drop it, but best practice is so have the rear window open when operating the tailgate. In regards to side access, I honestly can't see myself without it. I rarely access anything from the rear. It's SO much easier to access the bed from the sides.

Any Rebel peeps in here, that were in the Big Sur, CA area this past weekend ?? I saw a Ram Rebel with the SmartCap on it driving north on the 1. I was excited lol, first time I see the cap on truck in person on other than mines, and it turned out to be RAM as well :)
