Installing Factory Trailer Brake Controller and DIY Software Update

Thanks for the great write up! Just installed myself on my 2019 Laramie. I have the 6 person seating so it was a bit of a pain in the butt to get the controller bracket installed, but otherwise it was a very simple job. I used the DT MY2029 PowerNet Var.4 in AlphaOBD on a cheap kindle fire and...

Water Stained Headliner Near Rear Corner

Looks like this just happened to me as well @RamCares. Guess I'm going to have to make a trip to the dealer. I assume if there are bugs in my third brake light it's definitely not sealing well enough to keep out water. I also appear to have the rear window frame cracks.

How to verify Bilstein 5100 setting

My understanding is that the adapters should not be used on a Rebel because they use a different spring seat from the stock Bilsteins than non-Rebels that need the adapter. Yours definitely has the adapter on there. If you take them out that will probably bring you down 1/2”. If you are a full...

    Bilstein 5100

Sorry, I actually only added the ORP springs to the front. I’ll be swapping the rear shocks to bilstein 5100’s as well but leaving non-ORP springs. As far as the front goes, the ride is great.

    Bilstein 5100

I added the ORP springs and the Bilstein 5100’s on setting #3 to my non-ORP. I assumed I would get a 1” lift from the shock based on the chart and 1” from the springs, but I netted more than that. It was closer to 2.75” at first and it has settled closer to 2.5” after about 100 miles. I’m at...

    Bilstein 5100

The spring perch should be the same for both the ORP and non ORP. I measured the springs side by side and the ORP spring is 7/8” longer. According to Athens Bilstein instructions setting #1 is stock height for both ORP and non ORP. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Happened to me too. You need an 18mm pow’s through socket and a 6 point 8mm deep well socket to hold the shaft.

    Orp spring part #s

I installed the ORP front springs on a non ORP truck along with the Bilstein 5100’s on setting #3. I was looking for about 2” of total lift in the front (1” from ORP springs and 1” from Bilsteins) but netted closer to 2.5”. So I’m now sitting basically dead even front and rear at 38 1/2” on...

    Orp spring part #s

I just installed my ORP front springs. Ordered 68320249AB and received 68320249AC. Looks like the place I ordered now has the new part number on the website. I can confirm they measure 7/8” longer than the non ORP springs on the truck and do lift it...

    Bilstein 5100

If anyone is wondering I measured the length of the non-ORP and ORP front springs uncompressed and off the truck last night. They measure 15 5/8” and 16 1/2”, respectively. I’ll measure the truck once I get the other side installed, but the 5100 on setting #3 plus the ORP spring seems to have...

    Bilstein 5100

Bilstein’s website allows you to put in your vehicle. If you select limited, or if you select a lower trim level and select air suspension instead of coil it says there are no results. So I would assume they do not have a product available for air suspension trucks. Sent from my iPhone using...

Here’s the install file. Page 2 shows the typical lift heights for ORP or not.

    Bilstein 5100

The rebel is the same height as the ORP. He used #5 which provides 2" front lift for ORP and is the highest recommended setting. Positions #6 and #7 are the ones not recommended for ORP.
