Did Quaker State stop making its MS-12991-approved oil?

On the ram 1500 diesel forum, there are a lot of UOAs that show higher wear metals with Shell oil. It's entirely possible the high wear is not oil related, but there are certainly better oils for the 3d Gen ecodiesel. Another issue is the MS-12991 oils are typically high ash, which will...

Mopar prepaid oil change plan $252(3x$84)

Depends on the dealer, but $180-200 is about right for the oil change. The filter alone is $100 and 8.5 quarts of overpriced Pennzoil stamped with the Mopar emblem along with labor makes up the rest. If you're savvy enough to change the oil yourself, you can get it down to about $80.

2019 Ram 1500 Head Gasket Failure

That's a pretty rare thing to happen and not at all common on the 5.7. You're lucky it was just the gasket and you caught it as early as you did.

    DPF Issue and questions

You're regen'ing every 400-800 miles (depending on your driving). It's happening behind the scenes and if you interrupt the process enough times, you get the message telling you to drive at highway speeds cuz you're in regen. You can initiate a regen through AlphaOBD, but it'll be just as easy...

Question about oil/coolant warm-up temps on 3rd gen Ecodiesel

Yes. They’re typically 10-15 degrees off from each other.

What are you paying for an oil change on your oil burner?

My dealership charges $218 for ED oil changes, but have a $300 package deal for two oil changes.

    Glow Plugs - Any issues?

Would it have been easier to remove the wheel well liners and come up from the well to replace the back ones?

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

Totally get it. Oil and filters are a religion (or political affiliation) in the trucking communities. I've seen the pictures of failed Fram oil filters and heard all the horror stories...but my personal experiences have been benign. On one of the other forums, Fram filters are considered a...

Will me and my family be ok? Code 219A

Yeah, you’ll be ok. You may burn a little extra fuel, but your truck isn’t broken catastrophically. Do what you need to do and get it checked out when you get home.

Recall of High Pressure Fuel Pump

Nothing wrong with Fram filters. Are they the best? Probably not, but they filter oil just fine. Can you find better filters? Yeah, but you don’t need to.

    What would you prefer?

I've got the eco diesel....I'll happily take the extra HP/TQ!

    Regen Message

I’ve had that message display on my 2022 and it’s stock. It’s a normal factory thing for you.
