    Towing Without Tow Mirrors

    I tow a 23' (bumper to bumper) X 8' TT without tow mirrors. I can't quite see my trailer's side *ss but changing lanes is not a problem. Between these mirrors and the trailer backup camera I see just fine.

    Bed Size in Towing

    I’ve seen guidelines that were originally suggested by RV Consumer Group (RV.org). It starts with suggesting you need 110” wheelbase to tow a 20’ trailer. Then you would need and additional 4” of wheelbase for each extra foot of trailer. Wheelbase / Trailer length 110" = 20' 114" = 21' 118" =...

    First trip towing. First impressions and MPG

    As for the Ranger, the limitation that had me changing trucks is the hitch rating of 750lbs. I still had 100lbs to work with the 1500lb payload capacity. The Ranger was about 1000lb less than the Ram base weight and had 3.73 gears so it makes sense from a mpg sense in towing difference.

    First trip towing. First impressions and MPG

    I average 10-11mpg with my Ram (3.92 gearing) at 60mph towing a 23' 6000lb travel trailer. I got 11-12mpg towing the same trailer at the same speed with a 2019 Ford Ranger.

    2019 Ford Ranger -> 2020 Ram

    Hey guys, glad to join the Ram family. Was towing a 23' 6000lb Lance trailer with a '19 Ranger and felt it just quite wasn't up to the task of full timing with it (expensive mistake but worth the change). Loving this Ram so far! Night and day difference.
