So the problem was the BT adaptor. I've been using a Veepeak adaptor and its worked well with AlfaOBD. I changed many things with it but apparently its not good enough for JScan, or it doesn't have the horsepower to do some things.
Anyway, I brought a Vgate vLinker MC+ and got the PIN first...
For my phone or the truck? I have a strong cell signal (4/5 bars), not sure how to tell if the truck has a good signal.

Hey team,
'23 1500 BH
I'm wanting to program a new FOB. I brought JSCAN (already have the BT module and security cable as I've been using AlphaOBD for a while) and it connects to the truck.
I did the whole hazzards on, open/close door, wait one minute thing (the procedure according to JSCAN)...
So I found the problem. The DRL option in the vehicle settings was enabled (always was) but at some stage it was turned off. I'm guessing it reset at some point when I was "playing" with the AlphaOBD settings.
We all live and learn I guess. Thanks for the help.
Maybe I'm using the incorrect terminology then. I'm referring to the white light strips above and below the headlight. I currently have them as my DRLs. If I set "CBC Extern.Light Calib.: Signature Light Present- YES" they're on as DRLs, if I set them to NO they don't come on at all.
I was under the impression it was possible to have the signature lights on as DRLs but they would drop out when the turn signal was operating... have I mis-understood if this is possible?
If I have got it wrong then I'll go back to the turn signals as the DRLs :)
