Talk about confusion. Now the online suppliers, like Dieselfilters and others, show that this PN 68507598AA , replaces the one you just purchased from the dealer. Possibly the dealers are the only ones that get the removable cartridges (69498720AA).
For those thinking about purchasing, I'm very pleased with my ED 3.92. getting 27, 28, 29 mpg, (23.5 avg for my mixed driving thru a MI winter) with a full size, great riding PU truck is awesome. For me, if I needed better milage than this I would'nt have purchased a truck.
So you replaced this factory filter with the new Gen 3 cartridge/housing assy? Was there a PN on the factory cartridge that could be removed from this cartridge by lifting and twisting ?
I received two at the same time. neither separate. see photos of PN. Made in China is all over both but I love the packaging labels that say made in Undefined.
I just received two new Gen 3 filters and neither will come out of the canister. pulled, twisted CW. I will change the oil using one of these, keep the original canister bottom, and get a Gen 2 filter and see how it fits. My guess is that its the same cartridge.
The filters did arrive today. Would love to know who came up with this design. Yhe
Mopar PN 68229402AA) is the Gen 2 cartridge and the one used in the retro kit. It cross refs to WIX
WL10060 that can be purchased for $20. I guess when you change these out keep the canister bottom so it can be...
has anyone been able to compare the Gen 2 cartridge (PN 68229402AA) to this one? the Gen 2 is the one used in the retro kit and cross refs to WIX
WL10060 that can be purchased for $20.
Just spoke with Dieselonline and they said they have not received any oil fliters and cant predict when they will arrive. I ordered a month ago. And still no word from FCA on this!
It makes no sense for FCA to have their customers getting so irritated over a basic maintenance parts, like an oil filter, and for a first time - switch to RAM - owner, I don't appreciate their truck sitting in my garage, waiting for an oil filter, while I pay them each month and have to drive...
As a follow up. So far this has been a very functional cover with very little leakage. the seals have relaxed and provide a better fit than when first installed. I would rate it a Buy if you are looking for a cover that fits MFT and RamBox.
