Fender Flares or not? *Update Flares and Spacers Installed*

Been thinking about adding fender flares don’t have any experience with them. I like the idea of reducing dirt kicked up on the sides of the vehicle.

With my slight lift and bigger tires, I think the flares might look cool.

Those of you with them, what brand/style do you reccomend? Painted or unpainted?

Absolutely NOT. That truck looks so clean without them. Flares are lame. Pocket flares are terrible. Mud flaps are the worst.

Aftermarket ones usually do more damage where they mount and trap moisture and dirt then they do to add protection.

I was considering the OEM Offroad ones 82215284AB (pocket flares). I’m guessing H2OMAN would be a strong “no” to those.

I had also considered the Husky RVLs, but they look like they stick out too far.

I personally like the look of pocket flares, had them on my 6 Jeeps over the years. Definitely help with the dirt flinging.....

These were "no name brand" , bought off of Temu for $179. I was really surprised how well they fit. Better fit than bushwackers I had in the past.

While I am not a fan of fenders flares, I installed Weather Tech mud flaps on my 2022 Bighorn to reduce to amount of stuff that gets splattered down the side. they fit over the little factory things and work well for me.

I wasn’t thinking of going that wide, but the more I think about it, I figure why not?

With flares that large, I’m guessing wheel spacers are next to bring the wheels out to the flare? Right now, with my larger tires on factory rims, they are flush with the top of the fender.

I’m in uncharted territory for me.

That thing looks sweet without flares. The OEM`s look fine, only add about an inch without looking obnoxious.

Thanks for all of your thoughts, I have made my decision.

I am going with the SF1s @Eighty suggested, painted to match the truck. I also ordered BORA wheel extenders, 1.75" fronts and 2" rears to being the tires out. I post pics once I get everything installed.

I know you've already decided, but I prefer the OEM/smaller flare look. Pocket flares are too much, and if the wheels are stuck inside the flares it looks like you skipped leg day. They don't do much for mud, but I like the change in the body lines of the truck.

That's a good looing set-up. I initially wanted minimal and then I looked at the OEM pocket flares and thought I'd go that direction. It was a long weekend of deep thoughts! LOL

I like the rebel flares the best if had to pick.

To me, aftermarket flares represent hiding the inevitable wheel well rust. Lol

My painted SF1s are supposed to be in on Wednesday. I’ll install them this week while still waiting for the BORA wheel spacers.

I HATED since Day 1 that my '24 Laramie didn't have OEM fender flares..but got used to it..until I picked the Fuel Variant wheel that has a +1mm offset, and picked a 285/60R20 to go with it..which would have meant a +0.91" poke that I would have hated also, so fender flares became an issue again. Also, I have 6mm Bora spacers in back.

I bought OEM flares and had them painted. I cut the "pins" off the clips and used 3M tape..but the ~10 liner screws are what really hold them on.

I love the look of the flares with the more aggressive looking ATs, and now the poke is only 0.16"

LOVE the look of your truck! Those wheels are bad a$$. The color seems like a perfect match to the body paint. Can you post a link to the wheel? I may change wheels at the next tire change.

The flares look good.

CORRECTION: the wheels look black after a closer look. Still would like a link!

The Variant comes in Matte Black, Matte Gunmetal, Bronze/Gold, and Candy Blue.

Mine started as Matte Gunmetal, but it didn't match my GCM and the contrasting shade made me have them dipped/stripped and P-coated with Prismatic Coating OEM Color-matched P-coat.

Prismatic has factory matched coatings for ever color..but their Clear Vision Clear P-coat has to be used to exact match the factory color. My P-coater didn't do that as I asked and used the clear he had on hand! The color was spot-on, but it slightly darkened when the clear was baked on a couple days later.
As first, I was a bit unhappy, but quickly decided I actually like the slightly darker shade better..it has a very slight color-shift irridescence to it. Perfect color match at some angles, and slightly darker shade at other angles. I love them!

I was contemplating the SF1 color-matched, but my wheels don't stick out enough, then considered the RC Sport flares color-matched. I'll wait until next year to decide. I've sunk enough money this year
