I'm getting close to pulling the trigger for some new shoes on my 22' Limited 1500 and came across the Pirelli XTM AT which is appealing as the cost is slighlty below the "popular brands" and is lighter then most weighing in at 58lbs which is a big consideration since my truck has the 3.21 ratio. Most similar tires weigh around 60-70lbs. They still offer a 50k warranty and tread looks visually aesthetic (to me).

Hard to find any reviews on them online and seeing if any of you have experience with them? Pirelli is not a brand known for off-road tires but was my go-to when I was road racing motorcycles.

They look kinda like the Bridgestone Ascent AT's..my last experience with Pirelli AT Scorpions on a 2012 F150- was not good. Thus why I bought KO3's this time as new shoes. So far the K03's have been fantastic compared to the Duratracs they replaced. Pirelli does make some damn good MC tires though!!

They look like a cheap china walmart tire with the siping only going maybe half way down the tread block and just straight line cuts. Id look at the ko3 / dueler AT ascent / wildpeak AT / kenda AT over these. With weight being a concern you could also look at the firestone destination AT if they have them in your size. Though TBH im sure there are plenty of folks on here who run tires on the heavy side with the 3.21 and never really noticed the added weight.

The size I'm looking for is limiting some of my options. I want to run a 285/55/22 and some of the options mentioned above are not available (Kendas). I will look into the Firestone AT and compare. The other interesting technology on the Pirelli is the specific tire I'm looking for is rated for E vehicles which provides less off-road traction but increases rolling resistance to allow for better mpg. If its not just marketing BS, then this is worth a try to me. The only offroading my truck will see is going to my dirtbike riding spots and I would be fine with a road tire..

Thanks for the input and weight is a big consideration to me. I have run the Nitto, Toyo, and K02's in the past with all of them being great for wear and longevity. I want to try something new and the Wildpeak is on the short list as well.

Still looking for real world feedback before I buy, but will be sure to update you guys with my pick.

I agree. I had a set on a F-150 and they started to get noisy and need replaced at about 30k. They definitely sucked off road for an AT tire. And now, I have them on my RAM from factory. Why do they do this?

my wife’s telluride came with pirelli scorpion touring tires from the factory, wore out in 30k miles. Obviously they were not an all terrain tire but something to think about.

After watching some more online reviews and seeing how the new Pirelli's tested against the Falcons and KO's, I decided to order a set. Should be here mid week and will update everyone with performance, noise level, and see how they balance. They are 3 peak rated with a 55k mile warranty and come in at 54lbs VS the next lightest in this class at 60lbs for my sizing.

Can't wait to get these skinny road tires replaced and try out the Italian shoes!

Yeah i’ve got some in a basket. I like the look. Either that or Bridgestone Sport

Falken Wildpeak AT4W are great tires. 285/65R20 w/ 3.21 no issues View attachment 204669
Looks like you got the same width and size tire as me only I have 22" wheels (285/55/22). Did you end up needing to use a heat gun in wheel well to clear? I'm also installing the Revel advanced level kit the following week and curious if I can get away with a week or so with this tire size in stock height. Not the end of the world if I need to modify a little to clear but seeing how the fit is? I'm also on spacers which is equivalent of -18 offset which seems close to your setup.

I have the BDS 3" lift with 20X9 0 offset. No rubbing or issues. The 285/55 will fit stock with minor heat gun on front inner wheel well. I'm not sure with spacers.

The Pirelli Scorpions All Terrain Plus arrived today. Look so much bigger than the discontinued Toyo Open County H/T’s on there now. Dont know you need tires till you
set a new one in front of the rim for comparison.

Here it is. The 285/55/22 definitely rubbed with the 1.5" spacers and factory height (for now). Did the heat gun method and now it clears in aero mode all directions. Not many miles yet but the shop said they balanced with less weight then usual for an AT so its a good start! No hum noise at 50mph as of yet. Time will tell how they last/wear...
