Well add me to the list. have had 5 Rams in my adult life. Loved them all til now. Rear window seems to developed same leak as everyone else. Put sealer around brake light, nope thats not it. Used syringe to put water in certain spots, water coming in under brake lite thru window, right below brake light.. Never in my over 25 years of having these trucks have had to do anything but routine maint. and tires. Now I have a stained headliner and a smelly truck and dealer wont fix??? Between this and those silly shift knobs, maybe time to change!

Look at TSB 23-098-23, that covers 2019 - 2021 Ram 1500's for the leak now up to 150,000 miles and 8 years. Apparently they will replace the rear window with a revised version of the window that won't crack.

Link to post referencing the the new TSB's released for our trucks.

Even though the link goes to my post, my dealer didn't know about the extended warranty yesterday, when I was there. They were surprised when they looked it up. They said "looks like some of our customers that paid for it, are going to get reimbursements".

Yup just got back from dealer, until they looked up my VIN, he tried to tell me that i needed the 'extended warranty' for this to be covered. But he looked it up and there it was, covered. So I have to go back next week so they can take pictures, prove it leaks and all that, then order the rear window(which i was warned because of strike could take weeks). I told the guy with a glass of water I can show you it leaks, show you the cracks right now, he said nope, have to follow there process. So this is going to take time. I advise this, use a flash light to find the cracks , depending on the amount of light you have the cracks in the frame around the sliding window are hard to see.

The strike shouldn't effect parts. They would come from a warehouse, not UAW. Good chance the company making the parts isn't either.

This is the right side looking from the back of the truck. It is leaking on the corner right behind this.

This is the left side. I have not noticed a leak yet. I just messaged my service tech and sent him the TSB #. Hope I can get this fixed.

That’s really bad. How does that NOT leak? Sorry for your dilemma. (As I knock on wood because I have avoided this issue to this point)

Good luck, the cracks i have are right where the TSB shows them. Sad they are not making owners aware of this, shame if people went elsewhere and had to pay to fix.

Suppliers will start laying off employees. That has started for some.

I had the TSB cracks on the original and the corners on the replacement leak.
Also. I am pretty sure there are cracks on the sides, about two thirds of the way down.
Being pretty much horizontal, they do not seem to present a problem.

Update. UAW just extended strike to parts plants. I was wrong.

Anyone that has paid attention to any UAW strikes, this is an option and it happens. Sucks that they drag everyone in it with them.

All the corporations have to do is settle. Ford is real close, but GM and Stellantis are still giving ridiculous offers.

So this morning so i can document issue for the dealer(hopefully to save time), I did the following.
1) found a syringe and filled with water
2) emptied syringe, twice into space under brake light where window frame is, behind the glass.
3) went into truck and took picture attached
4) marked where staining had happened and you can clearly see crack in the frame there is a similar crack on other side.

Update: Just picked up truck from dealer. Replaced third brake light and rear window. So far(sprayed with hose) seems to be ok.
1) If you you take to dealer have TSB in hand
2) Using VIN , have them verify your truck is covered
3) If you skip 1 and 2, you will argue with dealer... :)

Thank you for TSB info!!!

Maybe I am missing something, but isn't that just a picture of the trim that runs along the roof? The plastic frame of the window that is problematic is between the rear window itself and the body of the truck, correct?
