This is our story, we are Son and Val and we bought a brand new truck, Ram 1500 GT 2022

On octobre 20 2022.

two days later and less than 200km with the new truck, my girlfriend Val was on her way on the acces ramp of the highway when engine shut off and the parking brake put itself. She was terrified. She try to restart it back, dont forget you are on an highway acces ramp and you stop sudently and the truck put it self in parking emergency brake but like it wasn't enough you need to move quick and to put the truck back to park so it can start. Even than it's not working to keep you going, you need to read the dash that tell you to remove the electronic hand brake only after that she was able to restarted up and to drive off. She never thrust the pickup again she said.

Brought it to the dealership, they said there was no error code but they changed the main computer but that did nothing, by the way Trois Diamants in Mascouche Quebec what a team, really they are all over to find the problem. Thank to them Lucas Zanth, Daniel Lafond, François Bonin, Nicolas Laverdière amazing team

really they are working with me in this.

During the Christmas holiday's, the same truck now with 3000 km shutdown on me, yes it did the same thing she had told me 2 months ago, but i was on a small street so no incidents. The Dealership was closed for the holidays so I continued to drove my truck and 2 days later It stalled again with myself my girlfriend and my little girl I was crossing a heavy traffic crossroad when it stalled.... almost get us KILLED ...

Today January 4 I drop my 2 months old truck to the dealership and I'm leaving it there...

The dealer are with me in this decision and will support me.

I want to Stellantis to take action and call me.

For myself I'm willing to buy a new truck at the same price with them, I just don't trust the model with the etorque and never will again, by the way its the 5th ram we bought and still trusting the brand

Here in Quebec Canada there's no Lemon law on cars

I call Stellantis, i call called RamCanada, and i told them the truck almost get us kill, that I want a buy back or something thatin can change my truck.they told me No... the truck is on a warranty , not to worry.... wowww. wasnt able to get anything from them, Stellantis..??

I'm going to assume this story is true, based on the space edits in your post, this is a cut and paste posting.

I'm assuming you are going to all the RAM sites and posting this in hopes of getting further action from Stellantis?

I would contact RAM Cares, who is a member on this site, maybe there is something he can do to help escalate your issue.

Sadly it's a known issue with some eTorque engines. The only solid solution is to do what you want to and get a truck without ET. But act fast, from what I understand 2022 is the last year you can get a Hemi without it. Starting in '23 all 5.7 Hemi's will have it.

Let the dealer do their troubleshooting. You say they are with you in the issue. I know there was a software update that was supposed to help.

And as mentioned, unless you can find a left over 2022 model, all the 2023s have etorque

RAM Cares had tried to help me when he replied to one of my earlier post, he had not realized that I am Canadian and his only suggestion was to call the Canadian FCA/Stellantis 1-800…help number from the owner’s manual.

It would be nice to have a RAM CAN (Canadian) Cares.

+1 there is a flash for that, its suppose to fix the issue, some had luck with this here.in this forum

but since hes in canada, the 2023 hemi ram are available without etorque (dont know why its like that)

but not as a GT, GT are automaticly etorque

There is CAMVAP in Canada, they can force the dealer to fix it or buy it back. Not sure if it’s available in Quebec tho.

They are going to assist me with the NOX sensor repair I have been waiting over 15 weeks for if customer care doesn’t figure something out soon.

Hmm I see that now, very disappointing that they are one of the very few manufacturers to not be involved.

Customer care tends to be very slow to respond and don’t expect miracles out of them. It’s really just assigning a case worker to your issue who oversees the dealer to make sure they do what they can.

Other than software revision, it may not be a PCM issue. Replacing it without making sure it has the software revision from TSB would do nothing.

That's like saying you are having video card issues in your home computer, so you replace the video card, but don't update the drivers

To install a new PCM, it has to be updated to latest software level. The important update is the HCP. I am guessing they replaced a part to give the customer a warm and fuzzy feeling.

They obviously do things differently in Canada. So the rules here in the states may not apply
