I have several multimedia AI boxes/devices...the ones that require a vehicle to have wired CarPlay to connect with a USB cable. I can't get any of the 5 devices I have...all 5 work fine in a 2020 non Dodge vehicle I have...so I know the hardware is OK. Chrysler has been no help...they say it is a non supported device. Anyone have any first hand experience getting one of these multimedia AI devices to connect to the Uconnect system?

Would be helpful if you provided a model and brand or a link of whatever you are trying to get to work "multimedia AI devices" is pretty damn vague.

I've tried 3 different Android AI Box devices and haven't had any luck - it's a uConnect 5 compatibility problem, because they don't work in my wife's Grand Cherokee L either. Even the most well-known Carlinkit didn't work. I sent them plenty of proof and they say they're working on it, but no ETA.

I did find one...the MMB box...currently on Amazon...it's a little clunky...but it does work. I did lots of software testing for Carlinkit...I sent theirs and 2 other sellers devices back to Amazon...couldn't get any to work. Attached is a pic of the MMB software interface. I have another device...from another Amazon seller...KSPIV and their device works great in my 2020 Corvette...and I love the interface...tried it in the RAM and not luck...I messaged the seller and they sent me an upgraded device...FREE...it arrived today...but didn't work...I'll be doing software testing for them if they want me to help them to get a working device for the RAM.

Tempting but I would prefer a device with LTE capability since I don't have unlimited hotspot on my phone and would like to be able to move the device between vehicles.

How did the testing go? I have a 2022 Ram 1500 12" screen. I mainly want to be able to run Google Maps in full screen. Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

I have only found 2 that will currently work with the 12" Uconnect 5 screen...one is the MMB MAX and the other is the KSPIV...both are sold on Amazon...I worked with both companies over the last 6 months testing many software and firmware updates...the KSPIV people even sent me a free box to work with to do the testing. Of the two boxes, I personally like the KSPIV box...it has a feature that no other box I know of...and that is Bluetooth connectivity to multiple Bluetooth hardware devices in addition to phone and music devices...I've got a OBD2 to connect and work...I've even got a Bluetooth keyboard to work. The OBD2 connectivity is great...I can do AlfaOBD on the screen...and I've tried several OBD2 apps and they all work...Torque Pro is my favorite. As I mentioned above both can be had on Amazon...buy them there and if you don't like them you have 30 days no questions asked for a full refund...and free return shipping. KSPIV currently has 2 versions Android 11, and their other is Android 12. The Android 11 version works great and is about $45 cheaper than their newest version. Both MMB and KSPIV have great tech support (both are in China...but the engineers I've worked with have a great grasp of the English language...but due to the time difference it can be up to 12-24 hrs before they can reply...but they do reply).

It's been months and I just saw your last reply, and the first thing I could think was, what is this guy doing? Before I scrolled up.
Are you buying a completely different head radio unit???
Amazon link?

Hey did ever get that kspiv box?
I have both boxes...the MMB MAX and the KSPIV (I have the Android 11 version of this box and bought the newer Android 12 version...the new box is physically a little bigger...I haven't had much time to play with it...but it booted up correctly...no obvious issues...I ran a few of the pre-installed apps and they seem to be working correctly...I still need to visit Google Play and install a few more apps).

Over time I think there will be more boxes on the market that will plug and play and work with the Uconnect 5 infotainment systems, (12" screens), right out of the box.

Big price difference between the 2.
I see they have updates for the MMB on their website, and it doesn't look like KSPIV has a website?
I see better videos on the MMB, but the KISV appears to have better hardware.

I don't see the Android 12 version of the KSPIV anywhere
Wish there were videos for the KSPIV. The MMB looks pretty good.

Oh ok I have the car smart cp-308 box from my previous truck. When I plug it up to the 2022 ram it doesn't fit the screen. I can only see half of the screen. Which box would you recommend getting?

Yep...a common problem for those of us with the 12 inch screen. As I said earlier...the KSPIV and the MMB are the only boxes I'm personally aware of that will work correctly on the 12 inch Uconnect 5 screens.

Both box manufacturers...KSPIV and MMB work great...and as I mentioned in earlier comments...the KSPIV is the only box I have experience with that will work with other Bluetooth hardware besides phones and music devices. Both box manufacturers have excellent tech support. If you are a little tech savvy the KSPIV people will send you an Android 12 update...free of charge...you just have to ask them for it...they did it for me. (Yes...those are the 2 boxes I have...and I also have the new KSPIV Android 12 box also)

Here is a Amazon link to the new KSPIV Android 12 box...the new box is physically different from the older version ---> https://www.amazon.com/Android-Wire...mzn1.fos.18ed3cb5-28d5-4975-8bc7-93deae8f9840

I wasn't able to find that even searching for it.
I just ordered it.
I have been using computers and fire sticks for years to convert dumb TVs to smart TVs. This could be useful on family trips or on work trips where I might be stuck in my truck for a bit. Internet bandwidth would be my only limiting factor I think.
