So I picked up my 19 Limited on Oct 30th. Drove home an promptly left and flew across the country for a week for a work trip. Came home put about 400 miles on it. Noticed during, that the etourqe battery gauge in the cluster was showing that the battery was draining and not really holding a charge. Due to this, the truck suspended auto/start stop and I got an engine light. Engine light disappeared over night and truck was running normally. I then called the dealer and tried to make arrangements to get it in. Initially they said they didn’t have a loaner so I waited a few days. Got myself into the habit of turning off the auto start/stop just to preserve the etorque battery in the meantime. A couple days later, come out to truck in the morning and it’s DEAD. No signs of life whatsoever. Remote doesn’t work, truck won’t unlock, it’s completely lifeless and nothing wakes it up. I had to unlock it manually, and attempted to jump the battery with a jump pack and then cables car to car, with negative results. Do to a cluster f**k of a snow storm, roadside couldn’t get me a tow to the dealer until the next day.
Got an update yesterday from the service dept....It’s 100% not a battery issue, and they can’t figure out what’s wrong with it. They “think” it may have something to do with the “generator” that’s tied to the etorque system.....They’re flying in a engineer from FCA to look at my truck today.....
Needless to say, I’m a little pissed. Truck has less that 800 miles on it. Now I don’t have my truck for travel this weekend for turkey day. This is my first Ram or Chrysler vehicle ever. I’ve only ever owned Ford & GM. Just came out of a Silverado, and gotta say I’m not thrilled. I mean I love the truck, and it’s got amazing tech and comforts, but I’ll cash that in for reliability. Ram isn’t starting out on the right foot with me.
Any of you head or seen of an issue like this?
