THIS^^ Unless the manufacturer is offering a great finance deal (like zero APR), I always get my own financing at my local credit union. Other than zero percent deals, they have never been beat plus they are easy to work with. For leases, you can find Chrysler Capital standard money factor online as well as any good MF deals they have. Dealership's are in it to make money, so if they are offering $1k off but you gotta finance through them, they are likely getting more than $1K somewhere else. Look for the rub and you will find it. A buddy who is a salesman at a dealership was telling me his shop gets pi$$ed if someone comes in with cash (or already financed). It doesn't take long to figure out why.

I don't think most dealerships are trying to screw people over, but they will make more money with the buyer who either doesn't care or doesn't know about the "gotcha's". I like buying and selling cars. The other day my wife told me I should work at the dealership as the FI guy since I kinda understand how it works. I told her I couldn't do that since ,in a way, they take advantage of people.
I don't tell them until i'm in finance that i'm using my credit union. They're more willing to negotiate with you if they think you're financing with them. I also have a printout of a warranty quote from Zeigler for when they ask about the extended warranty. My dealership matches it though.

Random question: does anybody know what time Ram updates the status of vehicles? Or is it kind of all day throughout the day? Just wondering what time is best to contact my dealer and harass them about updated status.

Looks like I am not the only one.........just do not want my ordered truck to end up on a dealer's lot for sale!
Yeah same! but they assure me the only way that can happen is if i cancel it, not them.

Seems to me (based on @Eighty and @triple_B ) that the build sheets get updated in the late AM and the Windows stickers get updated in the later evening, since that's when they run their scans. Those things could be happening throughout the day, but those guys have a great handle on it so it seems like those times are when they get the most info. I would assume any info the dealer has is in line with that, but after those 2 milestones, i think it depends on the carrier/dealer relationship.

Looks like our trucks are pretty much twins. Both of our window stickers were released the same day and we both have the same weird issue with the dealership.

Mine has same thing. Its just the inventory thing. Odd thing is on the dealer website and ram trucks website, it shows lower price than what was on the sticker and also lowered than POC.

most likely there was a price increase along the way….but the dealer was only invoiced for the original cost.

Window sticker is 67,850. POC is 67,725. Dealer and RAMTRUCKS Inventory said 66,250. The inventory used to say 67,850 till time when my BS was updated with price protection added in. That make me wonder.

It depends on the dealership and its people. One dealership that I worked at in Birmingham in the early 80's had a ruthless F&I guy. I might make $400 commission on the sale, but make an additional $700-$800 salesman's commission on the back end. They can load you up in the finance office if you aren't aware of what you are doing. Of course, this was back when new car rates were 21%. It was likely easier to mask a few percentages points in those days.

Unfortunately the Ram website does not reflect the current dealer pricing nor do they show the correct packages and/or options available in some cases.

Hmm ok. we'll see when the day of taking the delivery comes and I'll ask for updated POC.

HOW did you make out with the financing department? That is my beggest concern? The Koons deal is u must finance thru Chrysler Capital or loose the 1000.00. I was wondering what rate you received????
They offered me $1500 if I used the Chrysler Capitol finance. I didn't need to finance, so I skipped that because I didn't want to deal with all the BS a lien entails. I still got $2500 in other "rebates" paying cash.

Seems the consensus is that its an automatic Dealer inventory update once that dealer gets invoiced from the plant for your truck prior to shipping. It could just be no one else noticed since they don't look? why would you unless you're being a bit obsessive if we've bought our trucks already and are still looking at our dealer's inventories... :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: i know i'm a little eccentric since ordering. other possibility is that some dealers inventory on their websites update quicker than others? We've seen the differing accuracy on the spectrum of communication for this stuff.

Again, not sure but i know what they told me at my dealer today (posted earlier) and all i can do is believe them for now. but i do, because it makes sense.

Learned today my truck is on the train, ETA at Port Allen rail yard on 02/24. That will be 12 days from WS on 02/12. It's moving along faster than I expected. Now I would like it to hang out in the railyard for a week or so, just in case these March 'truck month' incentives that everyone is drooling over actually materialize ! ( This is my first rodeo buying a truck so it's all new to me ! Learned such a lot on this forum ) I do have $1500 incentives locked in with Mark Dodge, if time of delivery options are better I can take those instead.

build sheets are only published in the am, and window stickers are published in the pm. the only reason a build sheet would show up later is if the servers are slow and that is what has been happening for the past week.
