You think a first generation tundra will be without issues?
There is a recall on the lasted ones where the headlights cause the truck to burn down.
Every manufacture has its quirks. Can be trading one headache for another.

If you think your RAM rattles....wait till you own ANY Toyota product longer than 2 weeks. The vehicles may last forever but they are one of the worst offenders of using lots cheap, rattle/squeak-prone plastics in their interiors.

Even though the plastic was cheap on my Tundra, I had zero rattles or squeaks in 10 years of ownership.

I dunno man. We've had 3 Camry's and my current one is a 2013 (granted, not yet 70K on it) and nothing squeaks or rattles.
. Our 2006 and 2009 were great too.

I have a 98 Land Cruiser then I’ll probably never get rid of. That thing is a tank and is ultra quiet inside. That new tundra is pretty tempting and if it was available before I bought the ram, it probably would’ve been a tough decision. However, I’m holding out to see what that electric 2024 Ram looks like.
Tempting? Sir, may I respectfully recommend an Opthamalogist in your area? Mine gave me a new prescription right before the new Tundra was announced…was wishing I still had my old prescription. Some things just cannot be unseen…

I have a phobia about Tundras. I worked at a Toyota dealership, and Tundras were too big for our racks. So anytime you got stuck working on a Tundra, you had to use a rack in another building, which meant loading everything you thought you'd need in a cart and pushing it over there and make two or three more trips to get stuff you wanted or to go to the parts counter which was now further away. Long story short: I despise Tundras to the core of my being and wouldn't consider one ever. A Toyota car? No problem. Tacoma? I considered them. A Tundra, no way in Hell.

I was the same with the 5th gen Ram when they were first introduced. Same with the latest Chevy Silverado. In fact, most redesigned take a while to grow on me. Having said that, I'm still not a fan of the latest GMC heavy duty trucks, and I'm pretty sure that will not change.
As far as jumping ship, I'm not averse to doing that. I used to be a GM guy until the 2014 redesign (which I still don't like). But I will generally only do that if I don't like the design direction of the brand I own at the time. All vehicles can have issues, so it doesn't make sense to me to jump brands because of a problem or problems with a particular truck or car. Or a particular dealership.

Hands down Toyota and Honda make the most reliable vehicles. I tow for a living. I typically buy Toyota just because of what I know towing. Toyota has the best resale value as well. I needed a truck and the current Tundra is just outdated. I just sold my 21 Tacoma for more then what I gave for it because it was too small and it is also outdated. The screen in it resolution was from about 10 years ago. I have a 22 ram 1500 on order because I believe it to be the nicest truck on the market as of right now. I trade once the warranty expires and rarely drive my personal vehicles. I am always in one of my wreckers. I am that used vehicle people like to buy 5 years down the road with 3200 miles. I only put around 800 miles on a year. They are basically getting a pampered slightly used vehicle. That new Tundra will give Ram a run for its money for sure. I bet it will have a few bugs this year but great after.
