One of our eagled eyed spy photographers, caught this 2019 Ram 1500 Crew Cab Big Horn 4×4 out and about on Michigan public roads near the FCA US Tech Center. However, if you look closely it carries much bigger aggressive tires, a lift as well as a black roll bar in the bed. This vehicle is quite unique, considering that the 2019 Ram 1500 has not gone on sale officially yet.
We have talked to many of our sources about the photos. A couple of them have stated that this is in fact the first 2021 Ram 1500 Rebel TRX prototype. Yes, as we reported the Rebel TRX will make it to production this generation of the Ram 1500. This prototype seems to be an early suspension mule for the upcoming Rebel TRX.
As we have stated in our post about the 2021 Rebel TRX model, there will be in fact two models of the truck. Yes, one of those two models will be just like the 2016 Ram 1500 TRX Concept and be powered by a 6.2L HEMI HELLCAT V8. However, we have information from our sources that the HELLCAT powered model will not be “detuned” like the concept to 585 horsepower; but will feature the full 707 horsepower of the HELLCAT motor. The other model of the upcoming TRX will feature an all-new HEMI SRT based V8 and will be the entry level model and will feature over 500 horsepower.
The pictures show that the Rebel TRX development is well underway. This model will more than likely debut sometime next year. It will be in production sometime during the 2021 model year according to our inside sources. Check back for more details as they become available.
