The 5th gen Ram HD trucks seem to be out testing in full force now. Our friends at Real Fast Fotography caught the upcoming Ram HD for the second time in a week. This time it’s a dually crew cab and while the truck is wearing heavy camouflage it has given us a few hints to the future.
Zooming in through the side window we can see that this is definitely a different cab than the current Heavy Duty trucks and while we were expecting them to get the same cab as the 5th Gen 1500s the A-pillar trim on this truck differs from the all new Ram 1500. The grab handle is a different design and the A-pillar looks thicker overall, this could be due to this truck being pre-production with prototype parts or there could be something else going on here. We currently don’t know but when we do find out, you will find it here first.
Real Fast Fotography also caught this 5th Gen HD single rear wheel truck last week, which we wrote about here. That article is worth checking out as the spy photographer had some interesting observations about the truck.
While originally predicted to arrive for model year 2021, we are now thinking the 5th Gen HD trucks will be available for the 2020 model year. They are pretty far along in development with these final bodied trucks testing. Production start will most likely be dictated by when Warren truck stops producing the Ram 1500 classic and shuts down for a plant overhaul in preparation to build the 5th Generation Ram HD and the all new Jeep Wagoneer twins.
