New plant
The 2019 Ram 1500 is moving to a new assembly plant from the dated Warren, Michigan plant where current 1500’s are built. We have been able to confirm with inside sources that the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) is all ready to go.
SHAP is currently running all out on dayshift producing pre-production models. These are the trucks currently being used for testing with limited camouflage.
Production start
The 2018 Ram 1500 will be shown at the North American Internation Autoshow in Detroit on the media days between January 14th-January 16th. We have been able to confirm with inside sources which corroborates what Allpar is reporting, that production models will start rolling down the line on Jan 18th of 2018. Expect 2019 Ram 1500’s to be on dealer lots on the Spring.
This follows the way that Wrangler (JL) was launched with production starting basically immediately after reveal.
