Our friends at Real Fast Fotography, were able to capture this 2019 Ram 3500 Chassis Cab near the FCA Auburn Hills campus last week. This particular model is a regular cab version of the 2019 Ram 3500 Chassis Cab, in more than likely the Laramie trim configuration. This model is powered by the upgraded CUMMINS I-6. It appears to be a 4×2 model, since the other Chassis Cabs we have seen on the road sit much higher than this model in question.
For the first time we really get to see the underpinnings of the 2019 Ram 3500 (DD) Chassis Cab, as other Chassis Cab models usually have a flat bed attached to the rear of them. As we wrote a few weeks ago, these trucks appear to be heavy modified versions of the current platform trucks and these new spy shots confirm it.
A completely new exhaust system for the upgraded CUMMINS can be the easiest new identifiable object. The back of the Ram’s cab also gets a new bump stop design for the pickup box or whatever body configuration you want to add to the Chassis Cab model.
We explained in great detail our thoughts of the what is underneath the camouflage of the 2019 Ram Heavy Duty. This confirms much of what we talked about in the past article, with the layout of everything and the mounting points on the frame being virtually identical to the current Ram Heavy Duty trucks.
We expect the new CUMMINS and new transmissions will help the already capable platform push even further forward. While the rear suspension looks the same, the front suspension could receive some upgrades to reduce push in turn with heavy payloads.
