Just over a month, we broke the news that the RAM brand would be releasing a new special edition for the 2022 model year. Following on the footstep of the 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition, the RAM brand has officially announced the introduction of its new 10th Anniversary Edition of its Limited trim for the 2022 Ram 1500.
That’s right, it has been a decade since RAM introduced the world to its top-tier premium trim. Back in 2012, the trim was named the Laramie Limited and featured a body-colored front fascia with halogen fog lamps and a matching painted rear bumper. The Laramie Limited also featured a chrome grille with billet inserts from the then Ram 1500 Sport model and had chrome accents on the body-side molding, mirrors, door handles, and tubular side steps.
There was also a set of forged aluminum wheels with polished surfaces that were accented with painted silver pockets. RAM also eliminated the traditional HEMI® and R-A-M badges from the body side to give the Laramie Limited a cleaner street truck look.
Inside, there was a full-leather cockpit with dark slate Natura Plus leather seats and engraved details that lent the Laramie Limited style and sophistication. The seats were outlined in Medium Graystone leather piping. The center console featured a double-stitched full-leather lid, while a premium leather-wrapped steering wheel and console-mounted shifter were also added.
Fast forward a decade, the Ram 1500 Limited is the most luxurious half-ton pickup on the market. Layered in premium materials, today’s Ram 1500 Limited is full of premium touches with real wood, metal, and leather elements throughout the cabin that we have come to expect in a luxury vehicle.
For the 2022 Ram 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition, RAM has bundled some of the most popular options that customers have come to choose since the current Ram 1500 (DT) trucks hit the market in 2018 into a well thought anniversary package.
On the exterior, the 2022 Ram 1500 Limited 10th Anniversary Edition models receive RAM’s Multi-function tailgate. The Multi-function tailgate allows owners to open the tailgate both conventionally and with a 60/40 split barn door style configuration making accessing the box easier while climbing in and out or when a trailer is attached. A Mopar® center-mounted deployable bed step has also been added and will also help climbing into the box significantly easier. There is also the addition of the four adjustable cargo tie-down hooks, located on a rail system in the box for securing cargo.
The biggest change to the exterior is the addition of an exclusive new color for the Limited 10th Anniversary Edition called Blue Shade.
Inside, the Limited 10th Anniversary Edition receives a center console-mounted 10th Anniversary badge (very similar to the Limited Longhorn 10th Anniversary Edition), a special 10th Anniversary cluster theme in the 7-inch digital gauge cluster, and a unique “jeweled” rotary shifter knob that reminds us of something you would find at a fine antique store.
A new suede headliner adds a more upscale touch to the interior, while exclusive quilted leather-wrapped seats and door inserts, new Indigo/Sea Salt Grey interior color with Aluminum Litho bezels make the Ram 1500 Limited look more upscale than it has ever been. RAM has even installed a Mopar® bright pedal kit to help add more attention to detail.
The interior also comes with the beloved 19-speaker Harman/Kardon® 900-watt premium audio system and rear ventilated seats, two popular options that have been included in this special package.
Like all Limited models, the Limited 10th Anniversary Edition comes only in a Crew Cab configuration. Both the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with eTorque mild-hybrid and the 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 is available on the package.
As for pricing, RAM has announced that the Limited 10th Anniversary Edition will have a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $60,175 USD (a $3,085 increase over the standard 2021 Ram 1500 Limited Crew Cab 4×2). For our Canadian readers, the Canadian MSRP will be $83,385 CAD. Both prices are before destination, taxes, and other fees.
You can expect the Limited 10th Anniversary Edition to arrive in dealerships during the third quarter of 2021.
