Earlier today, Mopar announced the newest in a lineup of over 600 quality-tested, factory-backed parts, and accessories available for the RAM lineup. The new center bed step is designed to fit specifically with the multifunction tailgate to greatly improve ingress and egress to the bed.
The bed step (Part # 82216265AB) is available as a Mopar accessory and carries a Manufacturer’s Suggested Retail Price (MSRP) of $395 USD, it will also be available as a standalone option, or as part of the bed utility group on 2021 Ram 1500s with the multifunction tailgate.
Mopars’ newest bed step is rated for 350 lbs., is made from a high strength aluminum with a black e-coat finish, and are warrantied for two years/unlimited miles from the date of purchase or up to the remainder of the new vehicle’s warranty of 3-years/36,000 miles.

The multifunction tailgate is able to drop as a standard tailgate but also features an industry-first 60/40 split design that can open almost 90-degrees to each side. We have been able to spend time with various Ram 1500s with the multifunction tailgate over the past year and have always been impressed with the extra ease of access to the bed, making it a worthwhile option.

- Ram 1500 with standard tailgate: Mopar bed step lowers down for easy access and retracts back to stored position within the bumper. The step is load-rated up to 350 lbs. (Part # 82215289AG / U.S. MSRP of $365)
- Ram 1500 Classic: Mopar bed step swings out from the driver’s side corner of the rear bumper and retracts back to its stored position. Designed to fit single or dual-exhaust models, the step is load-rated up to 300 lbs. (Part # 82214245AD / U.S. MSRP $305)
- Ram Heavy Duty models: Mopar bed step is manufactured from high-strength aluminum with a black powder-coat finish and load-rated to support up to 350 lbs.
