For the first time since its debut in the Mexican market, the fifth-generation Ram 1500 will be offered with the 5.7-liter HEMI V8 with eTorque. That’s right, the 2019 Ram 1500 (DT) trucks never were offered with the eTorque system and Ram Mexico is kicking off the 2020 model year with a huge marketing campaign to celebrate. Along with the marketing campaign, Ram Mexico is dropping the eTorque name and calling the trucks a 2020 Ram 1500 “Mild-Hybrid”.

The 2020 Ram 1500 “Mild-Hybrid” lineup is limited to the Laramie Sport, Laramie Longhorn, and Limited trim levels. The 5.7-liter HEMI® V-8 engine with 395 horsepower and 410 lb.-ft. of torque with the Mild-Hybrid e-Torque system is coupled to the ZF-sourced TorqueFlite 8-speed automatic transmission and combines a motor-belt generator with a 48-volt battery pack, which manages start/stop functions, short-term torque delivery, and braking energy recovery system. The e-Torque system adds up to 130 lb-ft in the 5.7-liter HEMI V-8.
The 2020 Ram 1500 Mid-Hybrid lineup also offers the fourth-generation 12-inch touchscreen Uconnect 4C infotainment system, 360-degree camera, sunroof, and RamBox (depending on the configuration package). The new multifunction tailgate is standard equipment on the Mexican market Laramie Longhorn models and optional on Limited models.
The Mexican market 2020 Ram 1500 Mid-Hybrid lineup is currently in dealers now. For more information, you can visit Ram.com.mx or your local Mexico regional Ram dealer.
