It seems that the Sterling Heights Assembly Plant (SHAP) in Sterling Heights, Michigan has started manufacturing all-new 2019 Ram 1500 export models equipped with the popular RamBox® option. Thanks to our friends at Real Fast Fotography, we have pictures of one of these Ram 1500 export models in Laramie trim showing of the short-bed optioned model with the RamBox®.
It’s more than just a toolbox. The RamBox® Cargo Management System is a lit, secure, durable and drainable storage system incorporated into the side rails of your truck bed. And with the available AllSecure® Central Locking System, you can lock and unlock your cargo box and the rest of your vehicle with the push of a button.

The all-new Ram 1500 continues to offer the best lockable bed storage in the segment with RamBox®, it now features a 115-volt outlet and relocated overhead lighting in the box lids to improve illumination. The industry-first RamBox® cargo management system includes versatile, weatherproof, lockable, illuminated and drainable storage bins.
The RamBox® Cargo Management System is a $995 option in the U.S. and a $1,295 option in Canada currently.

Has anyone got any additional information as to when we could expect to see the RamBox as an option in the 1500 6.4″bed? The Ram website is building them into the 2500, but no love on the 1500. Any help would be appreciated.
